Hamilton Locke announces several promotions across our offices in Australia and New Zealand, effective 1 July.
Promoted to partnership are Roxanne Fisch, Monty Loughlin and Adriaan van der Merwe.
Roxanne Fisch – Safety, Sydney: Roxanne joined our firm in July 2024 as a Special Counsel in the safety team having previously worked with the Hamilton Locke safety partners at another international law firm. Roxanne is an Accredited Specialist in Employment Law with extensive expertise in conducting workplace investigations particularly psychosocial incident investigations at a time when that skill is much needed in the market with a significant increase in psychosocial regulatory investigations. Roxanne’s elevation brings the total number of specialist safety partners in Hamilton Locke to 4 partners making it the largest specialist team in the space in Sydney.
Monty Loughlin – Finance, Sydney: Monty was one of the first lawyers to join Hamilton Locke when we launched in 2018. As a Partner within the Finance team of Hamilton Locke, Monty will continue to leverage his experience in finance, restructuring and special situations to structure corporate finance transactions and turnarounds across a wide range of sectors – with a focus on the private credit segment and the core industries of financial services, resources, agriculture, and technology. His clients include onshore and offshore credit funds, asset managers, non-bank lenders, strategic investors, creditors and insolvency practitioners.
Adriaan van der Merwe – New Energy, Sydney: Adriaan joined our firm in February 2022 as a Senior Associate in the New Energy team. He advises clients on the entire lifecycle of new energy projects, including project development, M&A, construction, power purchase, contract management and disputes. Adriaan has worked on projects across Australia, Africa, and the Indian Ocean region, delivering industry-leading solutions for complex projects.
