Roxanne Fisch

Roxanne is a Partner in our Workplace and Safety team and is recognised by the Law Society of NSW as an Accredited Specialist in Employment & Industrial Law. In 2022, Roxanne was recognised by the Legal 500 Asia Pacific in employment and workplace relations.

Roxanne has significant experience in employment law, work health and safety, industrial relations and litigation, having worked at international law firms, specialist employment practices as well as in-house for a national construction company. Roxanne brings diverse experience to her role, having also spent five years practicing law in London.

Roxanne’s core focus is on achieving commercially sustainable outcomes for her clients within the complex legislative framework governing their workplaces. Roxanne has advised many employers on both contentious and non-contentious employment and safety matters ranging from regulatory compliance, discrimination, harassment and safety claims, through to workplace investigations, psychosocial hazards and transfer of business. Having assisted clients across industries navigate many years of regulatory changes, Roxanne remains resolute on ensuring her clients are provided with complete risk coverage and best practice solutions.

Prior to joining Hamilton Locke, Roxanne worked as Special Counsel for Clyde & Co and was a key member of the employment law advisory practice. Roxanne also worked for People & Culture Strategies, Gherson (UK), in-house for Boral Construction Materials and FCB (now Citation Group).

  • Advised a client in relation to their obligations in respect of psychosocial hazards and the implementation of a mental health strategy in their workplace.
  • Assisted a client in its defence of a protected interest disclosure offence brought in the Supreme Court of NSW.
  • Assisted a major hazard facility in challenging the refusal of their licence under the Work Health and Safety Regulations.
  • Advised a number of organisations on their COVID-19 strategy with respect to vaccinations in the workplace.
  • Acted for a client in their defence of a sexual harassment claim.
  • Represented a number of clients in their defence of unfair dismissal and general protection claims.
  • Assisted a global client in undertaking employment due diligence for a significant acquisition.
  • Successfully advised a number of clients on the negotiation and approval of enterprise agreements.
  • Advised clients in relation to their obligations in relation to modern award compliance.
  • Representing a client in relation to their defence of a stop bullying application in the Fair Work Commission.
