Glenjon deploys his legal skills to think laterally and interpret legal and commercial problems in a unique and distinctive way. A straight talker, he takes complex issues, breaks them down and conveys them in a way that is accessible.

Glenjon has extensive experience in regulatory investigations and advice, enforcement action and appeals and pre-litigation disputes in the wealth management, fintech and cryptocurrency sectors. His main areas of interest are AFS license cancellation hearings, individual banning hearings and the early resolution of complex financial services disputes. Glenjon is also interested in early dispute resolution and he is particularly skilled in negotiating a fair settlement offer or commercial arrangement.

Prior to joining Hamilton Locke, Glenjon worked at The Fold Legal, which merged with Hamilton Locke on 1 September 2022. Glenjon has also worked at AMP and the Commonwealth Bank of Australia.

  • Advised and assisted in two (2) concurrent banning order proceedings brought by ASIC against two (2) authorised representatives under section 920A of the Corporations Act 2001 (Cth);
  • Advised and assisted in one (1) Australian Financial Services (AFS) licence cancellation proceeding brought by ASIC;
  • Assisted one of Australia’s prominent cryptocurrency asset exchanges in the successful recovery of $11,000,000 worth of crypto assets;
  • Provided complex legal advice to a large cryptocurrency asset exchange on the recovery of assets provided to the client prior to receiving cleared payment (due to de-banking issues).
  • Provided advice to a large cryptocurrency asset exchange on production of documents in response to a notice issued by the Australian Crime Intelligence Commission;
  • Advised a large international client on the legality and regulatory regime applicable to the offering of an ‘ASX-trading’ style game, which incorporated an offer of a Non-Fungible Token (NFT) as a reward  to all Australian residents taking into consideration Federal legislation and each State’s and Territories’ relevant gaming laws;
  • Advised a large cryptocurrency exchange on the response and management of their response to media publications from a major media network concerning the exchange’s operations;
  • Advised an AFS licensee on the implementation of conditions imposed on their licence by ASIC to conduct and complete an extensive remediation program;
  • Advised a large AFS licensee on their breach reporting obligations in respect of a potential breach of the secret commission laws that was engaged in by an authorised representative of their and assisting in the lodgement of their breach report with ASIC.
