Ed Macgregor

With a background in structured finance, growth strategy and international market regulation, Ed works with clients to design and implement strategies and structures to finance, manage and grow operations across a wide range of funding structures and asset classes.

He brings Government, industry and private practice insights based on his deep experience across financial markets and industries. His broad experience and combination of capabilities allow him to efficiently structure, document and implement transactions that reflect the commercial drivers of his clients and provide pragmatic advice on complex operational issues and opportunities. Ed has a particular focus on the growing non-bank lending market in Australia and developing dynamics in private credit strategies across global markets.

Prior to joining Hamilton Locke, Ed worked in the structured finance team of KPMG Law. He has also spent time in consulting roles with PwC and a boutique corporate advisory firm in Sydney. Ed commenced his career as an investigator in trade and financial services portfolios within the Australian Commonwealth Government.

SELECTED REPRESENTATIONS
  • Advising Remara Investment Management as mezzanine financier in respect of a $285m warehouse transaction.
  • Advising Moneytech on the negotiation and establishment of $200m of debt facilities under master trust structure with Australian and offshore financiers and the refinancing of its existing structured corporate debt facilities.
  • Advising Assetline Horizon on the establishment of its securitisation programme master trust structure and establishment of its inaugural $200m facility.
  • Advising Nimble on the establishment of new debt funding facilities under a master trust structure funded by offshore funders, the negotiation and documentation of additional subordinated debt issued under structured corporate debt facilities and the refinancing of existing notes.
  • Advised Moula Money in relation to the overall funding programme, including the negotiation and establishment of warehouse facilities, institutional investments and debt support facilities and ongoing advice and support in relation to operational matters associated with its facilities.
