Ed Macgregor

Senior Associate

With a background in structured finance, growth strategy and international market regulation, Ed works with financiers and issuers to design and implement strategies across a wide range of funding structures and asset classes.

His broad experience and combination of capabilities allow him to efficiently structure, document and implement transactions that reflect the commercial drivers of his clients and provide pragmatic advice on complex operational issues and opportunities.

Prior to joining Hamilton Locke, Ed worked in the structured finance team of KPMG Law. He has also spent time in consulting roles with PwC, KPMG and a boutique corporate advisory firm in Sydney. Ed commenced his career as an investigator in trade and financial services portfolios within the Australian Commonwealth Government.

SELECTED REPRESENTATIONS
  • Advising JustFund on the negotiation and establishment of a $200m warehouse facility under a master trust structure with a major Australian credit fund and the refinancing of its existing structured corporate debt facilities.
  • Advising Australia Pacific Mortgage Fund in respect of the structuring and establishment of various funding programmes, including a $90m mortgaged backed pooled bond issuance and a $250m warehouse facility under a master trust structure.
  • Advising Longreach Credit Investors in respect of the negotiation and establishment of forward flow whole loan purchase arrangements in respect of certain commercial receivables.
  • Advising Remara in respect of various asset backed financing and risk retention structures, including securitisation trusts and other structured note issuances.
  • Advising MA Financial Group (formerly Moelis Australia) in respect of mezzanine exposures in various securitisation programmes.
