Ruth Fesseha

Lawyer

Ruth takes a hands-on, relationship-driven approach to her matters as she seeks to assist clients in navigating the increasingly complex financial services regulatory landscape.

Ruth brings a distinctive set of skills to support financial services clients, honed through diverse roles she’s had including in management consulting, change management, ESG and modern slavery compliance, as well as extensive engagement in the community services sector. Her breadth of experience has contributed to her adeptness as an agile and commercially-minded lawyer and her ability to forge robust client and stakeholder relationships and communicate complex legal concepts in an accessible and client-friendly way.

Ruth specialises in financial services regulatory work with experience across financial services licensing, structuring and regulatory compliance relating to financial product advice, credit, payments and design and distribution obligations.

Her commitment to excellence is evident through her proactive work ethic and her passion for personal and professional development. Ruth strives to give back through her skills through pro bono and volunteer initiatives, and she regularly seeks out opportunities to coach and mentor junior team members.

Prior to joining Hamilton Locke, Ruth worked in PwC Australia’s Consulting and Legal teams and regularly volunteered with Redfern Legal Centre’s Financial Abuse Service.
