Hamilton Locke Promotes 14 Across the Firm

Hamilton Locke is excited to announce promotions across Hamilton Locke in Australia and Hamilton Locke New Zealand1, effective 1 July 2023.

Hamilton Locke Special Counsel James Tannock will be promoted to Partner, continuing his specialisation in cross-border and domestic M&A transactions, acquisition and fund structuring and shareholder arrangements, particularly for private equity and other private capital clients.

Maggie Chang of Hamilton Locke New Zealand1 will also be promoted to Partner (once she has completed the New Zealand Law Society requirements), specialising in M&A, venture capital investments and private equity transactions.

As Partners, James Tannock and Maggie Chang will further enhance the strategic direction of the firm and drive growth, bringing their extensive experience and expertise to further benefit the firm’s clients.

A number of Hamilton Locke Senior Associates will also be promoted to Special Counsel in recognition of them consistently demonstrating a deep understanding of complex legal matters and consistently delivering outstanding results for clients, including:

  • Finance and Restructuring and Insolvency Senior Associate, Monty Loughlin
  • Litigation and Dispute Resolution Senior Associate, Eliza Buchanan
  • Energy, Resources, Construction and Infrastructure Senior Associate, Adriaan Van der Merwe
  • Financial Services Senior Associate, Jessica Smith.

In addition, a number of Lawyers and Associates will be promoted to Senior Associate in recognition of them consistently exhibiting exceptional legal skills and a commitment to exceeding client expectations. Senior Associate appointments include Camilla Vadas, Cormac Foley, Emil Conradie, Joshua Mills, Julian Ilett, Nicholas Achurch, Nicholas Pavouris and Pravneel Chaudhary.

Hamilton Locke is also delighted to announce a promotion in its allied business, Source, effective 1 July 2023 with Company Secretary, Sarah Wilson, promoted to Executive Director.
