Emil enjoys the challenge of law and deconstructing complex problems into simple solutions for clients. His commercial and collaborative attitude ensures that his clients’ aims are achieved as efficiently as possible under any circumstances.

Emil has experience in a broad range of debt finance transactions. These include leveraged and acquisition finance, structured finance and corporate finance. Emil has acted for financial institutions and corporate clients in Australia and internationally.

Prior to joining Hamilton Locke, Emil worked at Cliffe Dekker Hofmeyr Incorporated and DLA Piper in Johannesburg.

Emil is admitted in South Africa and not admitted in Australia.

  • Acted for an ASX-listed financial services firm in relation to a revolving cash advance facility provided to fund its working capital requirements and new investments.
  • Acted for Global Credit Investments on a structured senior secured debt facility made available to Grapple to fund its invoice financing business.
  • Acted for Longreach Credit Investors on a structured senior secured debt facility provided to Till Payments Solutions to fund its receivables financing business.
  • Acted for an Australian private equity firm in relation to a term loan facility and revolving credit facility provided to fund growth capital expenditure and acquisitions.
