Samantha has extensive experience advising clients on all aspects of employment and work health and safety law, from pre-employment through to termination and managing post-employment obligations. Samantha’s corporate and commercial background also assists her to seamlessly collaborate with the M&A team to handle all employment aspects of commercial transactions, corporate restructures, and transfers of business.

Samantha’s expertise encompasses a wide range of complex workplace disputes and investigations across various industries including manufacturing, telecommunications, energy and resources, building and construction, retail, government, insurance, medical practices, and technology. Having gained experience working in-house, clients can benefit from Samantha’s practical and commercial approach to navigating and resolving workplace issues.

Prior to joining Hamilton Locke, Samantha was an Associate in the Health, Safety and Employment team at Clyde & Co. Samantha also has experience as an in-house lawyer acting for a large, privately-owned group of companies. She also worked in the Restructuring and Insolvency team at Norton Rose Fulbright.

  • Acting for and successfully defending unfair dismissal claims and general protections applications in the Fair Work Commission.
  • Advising on employment due diligence in corporate transactions including liaising with various international jurisdictions such as Singapore, Sweden and New Zealand.
  • Advising a religious organisation in effectively managing psychosocial hazards and risks in the workplace to ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Assisting various clients through the implementation of restructuring process resulting in mass redundancies.
  • Conducting a workplace investigation for a tertiary education provider into allegations of bullying, fraud and potential criminal conduct.
  • Conducting a legally privileged investigation for a client in the sporting and entertainment industry in response to a severe weather incident.
  • Preparing a suite of executive employment agreements for a national ASX-listed technology and information services company.
  • Undertaking a psychosocial gap analysis for an infrastructure company and delivering a report regarding potential liability and recommendations for improvement.
