Nick is a Senior Associate in Hamilton Locke’s Food and Agribusiness market group.

He is passionate about building long term relationships with clients and is the trusted advisor for many families and businesses across Queensland.

Nick specialises in rural and commercial property law with extensive experience in acquisitions and disposals, land access and compensation negotiations, renewable energy projects, carbon projects, property development and leasing.

Nick also has experience advising clients in planning and environment matters, statutory land valuation objections, due diligence investigations and business advisory matters.

Nick has a keen interest in the agribusiness sector and is currently the President of the Young Agribusiness Rural Network (YARN) Committee.

Prior to joining Hamilton Locke, Nick worked for Thynne + Macartney Lawyers.

  • Acted for Packhorse Pastoral in the sale of its three cattle stations.
  • Acted in the sale of a significant mixed-use cotton and cattle operation in Emerald.
  • Acted for landholders in the Macintyre Wind Farm, Donnybrook Wind Farm and Karara Wind Farm projects.
  • Acting for all landholders in two significant wind farm projects located in Central Queensland.
  • Acted in the restructuring of a large-scale, vertically integrated Australian beef producer.
  • Advised an international food and beverage company on its national distribution and supply agreements.
  • Appeared in the Land Court of Queensland and at private mediation representing clients in significant CSG and mining disputes.
  • Managed ongoing leasing and compliance matters for a rural airport.
