Nicholas is a hard-working lawyer who enjoys the technical aspects of disputes and the challenges in obtaining a commercial outcome for his clients.  He works closely with clients to understand their needs and business to ensure a tailored solution is achieved. 

Nicholas is experienced in construction dispute resolution and contract drafting and negotiation, with a particular focus on litigated disputes and disputes under the Building and Construction Security of Payment Act 1999.

Prior to joining Hamilton Locke, Nicholas worked at Morrissey Law + Advisory which merged with Hamilton Locke in 2022.

  • Successfully defended Supreme Court proceedings acting on behalf of builder in respect of waterproofing defects involving a complex and lengthy history of events.
  • Successfully defended an adjudication application on behalf of a head contractor carrying out government works.
  • Advised contractors and principals in relation to their rights and obligations under the Building and Construction Industry Security of Payment Act 1999.
  • Assisted in drafting bespoke infrastructure maintenance contracts for government departments.
