Michael Liu

Michael is an experienced renewable energy and projects lawyer with a multidisciplinary background in real estate and corporate law. He achieves successful outcomes for his clients by thoroughly understanding his clients’ objectives, providing a clear roadmap to those objectives, and taking a commercial and collaborative approach in his work.

Michael’s experiences include drafting and negotiating project agreements, services agreements, land agreements, as well as mergers and acquisitions. Michael has advised clients across the life cycle of renewable energy projects and has worked on solar, wind, battery, and waste to energy projects.

 

Michael also has extensive experience working with inbound Chinese businesses in Australia, including private companies, investors and Chinese state-owned enterprises. Having lived and studied in China, Canada, USA, and Australia, he excels in working with diverse teams, clients, and stakeholders.

Michael is fluent in Mandarin Chinese.

Prior to joining Hamilton Locke, Michael worked as lawyer at Gilbert + Tobin where he gained invaluable experience working on complex domestic and cross-border corporate transactions and real estate projects.
