Megan Chau

Megan pursued a career in the legal profession due to her desire to help others navigate and develop practical solutions for complex legal issues, and to make a positive contribution to the world around her. Her collaborative approach and her ability to think critically and creatively allows her to reach holistic, effective and client-based solutions, whether working independently or as part of a team.

Megan has a keen interest in supporting others, with strong experience in the hospitality industry and student support services, the latter in which she received multiple awards for her contributions to the university residential and wider community. Megan is currently a lawyer in the Hamilton Locke New Energy Team.

Prior to joining Hamilton Locke, Megan worked as a Senior Student Leader at International House in the University of Wollongong, as a baker at Kürtősh and as a Beverage Attendant at Novotel Wollongong Northbeach.

SELECTED REPRESENTATIONS
  • Acted for European Energy, a Denmark-based developer, to draft and negotiate key project contracts and subcontracts for the 56 MW Mokoan Solar Farm, being its first project to enter construction in Australia and expected to be the biggest solar project on Australia’s main grid.
  • Acted for Quintas Energy Australia, a global platform for the management and optimisation of renewable energy assets, on a retainer basis to draft and negotiate an asset management agreement, construction and asset management agreement and operation and maintenance agreement across multiple projects in Australia.
  • Acted for Aqualand on consultancy agreements for its $2.5 billion Central Barangaroo Project.
