Maggie is known for her unrelenting enthusiasm for her work and knack for providing pragmatic and commercial solutions to the complex legal issues faced by her clients. Maggie believes in working collaboratively to achieve results-orientated solutions for her clients.

Maggie has significant experience in the corporate and commercial sphere, specialising particularly in the fast-paced world of M&A, venture capital investments and private equity transactions. Maggie has worked across a broad range of industries, having practised in top tier law firms in Australia and New Zealand, as well as an in-house stint in the pharmaceutical industry. She is fluent in Mandarin Chinese.

Maggie was previously a Senior Associate at New Zealand firm, Anderson Creagh Lai, which joined Hamilton Locke in January 2023, with the establishment of Hamilton Locke New Zealand.

  • Advising an overseas corporate fund on a broad range of legal issues in respect of a New Zealand limited partnership with substantial farming assets, including advice regarding the Overseas Investment Act 2005.

  • Advising GD1, a VC firm that invests in NZ-originating tech companies, on funding and restructure-related issues in respect of certain investee companies.

  • Advising Nuance Connected Capital, a deep tech fund, on its investment into Easy Crypto, New Zealand’s leading cryptocurrency retail platform.
