Hamilton Locke advises Niche on the acquisition of Ausecology

We are delighted to have advised Niche Environment and Heritage Pty Ltd (Niche), one of Australia’s largest privately owned nature, biodiversity and heritage consultancies, on the acquisition of Ausecology Pty Ltd (Ausecology).

The Hamilton Locke teams have assisted Niche on all legal aspects of its acquisition of Ausecology. Ausecology is a specialist ecology, rehabilitation and environmental consultancy established in 2012 and based in Queensland, offering ecology and offsetting alongside environmental restoration and on ground services.

The integration of Ausecology enhances Niche’s capacity and capability to support clients across all sectors and territories where both companies currently provide consultancy services.

Commenting on the transaction, Hamilton Locke Partner, Gordon McCann said:

“It is a pleasure to have supported Ian, Lawrence and the broader team at Niche on its successful acquisition of Ausecology and help them grow their core environmental capability in Queensland and increase their market share across Australia. We look forward to closely following the success of the combined group.”

The multi-disciplinary team at Hamilton Locke was led by Partner Gordon McCann (M&A) and Tim Zahara (Employment), with consultants Gonzalo Castro and Olivia Boyle, and lawyer Matthew Dean.
