Having been a partner of the firm since its inception, Gordon has a deep understanding of its founding principles and is passionate about maximising the firm’s people experience – which in turn drives the best possible experience for clients.
Gordon thrives under pressure and particularly enjoys the challenge of working with multiple stakeholders and assorted personalities. Gordon is recognised as an eminently trusted advisor to clients, highly valued for his technical ability and commercial acumen.
Primarily involved in private treaty mergers and acquisitions, Gordon has a particular focus on the Australian private equity space, acting for local and overseas funds on their platform investments, roll ups and exits. In addition to his expertise in private equity, Gordon also acts for blue chip corporates or founders with M&A transactions, management equity incentive plans and director duties – helping them navigate an increasingly convoluted regulatory and legal environment. Gordon also has specific industry expertise in warranty and indemnity insurance having advised global insurance companies on hundreds of insured M&A transactions.
Gordon now manages the firm’s involvement with the Australian Growth Company Awards, having been involved with the program since its inception in 2012. He also established and leads the firm’s “Introduction to Capital” – an annual networking event between leading growth private equity firms and high growth companies.
Prior to Hamilton Locke, he worked for top ranked and internationally recognized firms Baker & McKenzie, Sparke Helmore and was a partner at K&L Gates.
