The AFR Features Hamilton Locke’s Recent Wave of Partner Arrivals

The Australian Financial Review (AFR) covers the arrival of five new partners joining our Melbourne and Brisbane offices.

The AFR noted our recent wave of partners with a total of 14 new partners in 2023 and a significant increase in employee headcount. The article makes special mention of the arrival of Finance partner, Andrew Vincent, Corporate partner, Kath Booth and Construction and Litigation partner, Elena Stojcevski joining our Melbourne office alongside Tax Partner Damien Bourke and Environment and Planning Partner, Amelia Prokuda joining our growing Brisbane office.

In the article, Andrew Vincent spoke to the AFR about our emphasis on innovation and doing things differently. Andrew soke about this approach and its inclination to free up partners to engage more directly in legal work, addressing the perception that some law firms have a limited focus on client needs.

Andrew spoke to the AFR and weighed in on our innovative business model and noted,

“Because the firm was set up with a blank canvas, they could structure it with minimum bureaucracy. That admin would normally take up most of partners’ time, but this frees people up to do the legal work they enjoy for clients,”

“And that’s good from a client perspective, because they want to see partners on deals actually doing the work.”

Andrew also discussed our emphasis on people experience and commented,

“The fact that people’s experience in some places is less than ideal means that there is an opportunity to reach out to high-quality people that are attracted to a different value set.”
