Hal Lloyd

Deputy Managing Partner

Solving complex problems is at the heart of Hal’s practice. He thrives on gaining an authentic understanding of a client’s business objectives and how a contemplated transaction is intended to facilitate that objective. His interest lies in understanding the commercial context of a transaction, so that he can better advise on structure, design and implementation.

Hal is engaged in a broad range of corporate transactional work, from public company mergers and acquisitions, private equity, capital markets, to distressed and restructuring transactions, across a number of industry sectors. With more than 25 years’ experience, the breadth and depth of Hal’s technical legal knowledge combined with his genuine understanding of the commercial context, and an element of creativity, allows him to solve even the most challenging problems.

In addition to his extensive client representations and expertise, Hal co-founded Hamilton Locke, bringing his commercial experience to help build an agile, evolved legal services business where cross-disciplinary teams genuinely collaborate.
