Candice is a dual-qualified lawyer specialising in corporate law and M&A with a passion for finding people-oriented solutions for her clients. Candice’s self-motivated attitude will confidently lead a team to achieve targets and meet deadlines.

Candice began practising as an M&A lawyer in South Africa, before moving to Sydney in 2020. Candice specialises in broad corporate transactions and M&A, including acquisition and disposal of shares, businesses and assets, private equity transactions and general corporate advisory across a range of industries.

Prior to joining Hamilton Locke, Candice worked at Hall and Wilcox in Australia and Norton Rose Fulbright in South Africa.

Australia

  • Assisted the Trippas White Group with the acquisition of a catering and cleaning business from Spotless (part of the Downer Group).
  • Assisted with the sale of 50% of the equity interest in ThinkEx (EFEX) by Alceon Private Equity Group for approximately $55 million.
  • Assisted Lifewealth with the sale of shares by two shareholders to Ironbark Asset Management Pty Ltd.


South Africa

  • Assisted International Housing Solutions Residential Partners 1, a leading real estate fund and property manager focused on the development of residential housing, in respect of the sale of 1,983 residential units spread across seven properties to a specialised residential property fund listed on the AltX Board on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange, Transcend Residential Property Fund Limited. The purchase consideration for the transaction was valued at R1.21 billion.
  • Assisted AIG Capital Partners, (advisers to the AIG Global Emerging Markets Fund) on all South African and pan-African aspects of the Fund’s acquisition of a significant minority stake in African mass-market credit provider Blue Financial Services.
  • Assisted Pangea Investment Management, an investment holding company backed by an international syndicate of financiers, to implement complex and innovative financing to assist the Lonmin Group, a platinum producer, in extinguishing its existing credit lines in the UK and South Africa. This was effected by implementing a metal streaming transaction, meaning that Lonmin will forward sell various platinum group metals to Pangea Investment Management for an advance of USD200 million.
