Hamilton Locke attracts three new partners to Corporate and Finance teams

Hamilton Locke has appointed three new partners as we continue to expand nationally: Gaynor Tracey (Head of Corporate, Sydney), Madeleine Kulakauskas (Corporate, Sydney) and Luke McShane (Finance, Perth).

Nick Humphrey, Managing Partner of Hamilton Locke, said: “We’re pleased to welcome Gaynor, Madeleine and Luke as our newest partners. With an anticipated uptick in M&A and general corporate activity over the next 12 months, Gaynor and Madeleine are well placed to support our national clients on both strategic and business as usual corporate transactions. Similarly, Luke will help us drive growth over in Perth in assisting clients in financing infrastructure projects.”

Gaynor Tracey: Gaynor will head up our Sydney Corporate practice. Previously a partner at Corrs, Gaynor brings to our firm 25 years’ experience in M&A in London and Australia. She is an experienced corporate transactional and advisory lawyer with a diverse and extensive skillset, having developed a successful corporate transactional practice representing public and large private companies, funds, banks and shareholders in Australia and internationally. Gaynor regularly advises clients on foreign investment, regulated and private treaty M&A transactions both buy and sell-side and domestic and inbound equity investments. “I am thrilled to be joining a firm that has achieved unprecedented growth and success in the Australian market through challenging traditional legal practice with a dynamic and innovative model.  Hamilton Locke has an unwavering focus on relationships with its clients, developing its people, and fostering a culture which underpins the delivery of first-class legal services to those clients.”

Madeleine Kulakauskas: Most recently a Special Counsel at Corrs, Madeleine advises corporate clients across a wide range of industries on all aspects of corporate law and governance with a particular focus on M&A transactions. With deep knowledge of Australia’s foreign investment laws, Madeleine has assisted numerous foreign investors, including private equity funds and a number of state-owned enterprises in obtaining foreign investment approvals. Madeleine is also a specialist in warranty and indemnity insurance, where she has advised major insurers and policyholders for over 15 years. “I joined Hamilton Locke because its culture-centric, client-focused approach resonated with my own values. The firm’s reputation for innovation and growth, combined with its commitment to a collaborative and connected workplace, made it an exciting opportunity.”

Luke McShane: A seasoned banking and finance lawyer, Luke has significant experience assisting borrowers with the project financing of mining, resources and infrastructure projects within Australia and overseas, including experience with negotiating and documenting offtake agreements. Luke was previously a special counsel at Gilbert + Tobin. “I’m delighted to join a firm that is committed to building a purpose-driven culture with exceptional people delivering great client outcomes. Hamilton Locke is growing rapidly and it’s exciting to be able to play a role in shaping that growth in Western Australia.”
