Megan pursued a career in the legal profession due to her desire to help others navigate and develop practical solutions for complex legal issues, and to make a positive contribution to the world around her. Her collaborative approach and her ability to think critically and creatively allows her to reach holistic, effective and client-based solutions, whether working independently or as part of a team.

As a New Energy lawyer with experience in the Construction, Corporate (M&A and Private Equity) and Banking & Finance teams, Megan has worked with key stakeholders at each stage of a renewable energy project; with a current focus on project development and contract administration in the renewable energy space. Her experience includes reviewing and negotiating project agreements for multiple projects across Australia, including operations and maintenance, asset management, service and supply contracts, corporate governance / secretarial services and dispute resolution.

Prior to joining Hamilton Locke, Megan worked in the hospitality industry and as a Senior Student Leader at International House, where she received multiple awards for her contributions to the university residential and wider community.

SELECTED REPRESENTATIONS
  • Acted for European Energy, a Denmark-based developer, to draft and negotiate key project contracts and subcontracts for Mokoan Solar Farm (56MW).
  • Acted for Quintas Energy Australia, a global platform for the management and optimisation of renewable energy assets, on a retainer basis to draft and negotiate multiple asset management, operation and maintenance and service agreements across its Australian projects.
  • Acted for energySEA in negotiations for a supply agreement in respect of the Humelink East Project (500kV transmission line).
  • Acted for Aqualand on consultancy agreements for its $2.5 billion Central Barangaroo Project.
