Ellen Sachs

Senior Associate

Ellen is a commercially minded lawyer with a strong track record across structured finance, securitisation and private credit transactions in Australia, the U.K. and Europe. She focuses on balancing legal risk with commercial outcomes, providing clear and practical advice, and being consistently available and approachable, someone clients want to call when they need solutions delivered quickly and effectively.

Ellen advises financiers, originators, arrangers and asset managers on the structuring, documentation and execution of asset-backed warehouses, private credit facilities, master trust platforms and bespoke capital-markets transactions. Her background across leading international law firms and within an alternative-assets execution team gives her insight into how structures operate in practice and how commercial decisions flow through every stage of a transaction.

She has experience navigating complex regulatory frameworks and brings a practical, market-aware approach to cross-border matters. Ellen has a particular interest in Australia’s expanding non-bank and private credit sectors and the shifting dynamics of global alternative-asset financing.

Prior to joining Hamilton Locke, Ellen worked in the structured finance teams at Allen & Overy (London) and Dechert LLP (London), and later with Allens and iPartners in Sydney in a capital markets execution role.
