Crystal is a commercially minded tax lawyer who combines technical precision with a problem-solving approach. Bilingual in English and Mandarin, she advises domestic and international clients on complex international tax and cross-border transactions, with a particular interest in supporting technology start-ups through their growth and capital-raising journeys.

She has extensive experience in corporate tax, tax structuring, mergers and acquisitions, funds management, and start-up advisory. Crystal brings a deep understanding of both legal and commercial drivers, helping clients navigate sophisticated tax issues with clarity and confidence.

Prior to joining Hamilton Locke, Crystal worked at PwC, EY, Bank of China, and AXA Insurance (Hong Kong).

  • Advised Andromeda Robotics on its A$23 million Series A capital raise.
  • Advised JustFund on the establishment of a A$200 million securitisation warehouse facility with MA Financial Group.
  • Advised on the A$39 billion acquisition of Afterpay by US payments company Square (now Block)*.
  • Provided tax support to a global asset management firm for the launch of a new private credit fund in Australia*.
  • Advised an ASX-listed property development company on its acquisition of land assets and operating entities from a Queensland-based land lease community owner*.
  • Assisted a Hong Kong based charity on its proposed acquisition of a Grade A office building in Sydney CBD*.
