The second annual Technology Scale-up Awards officially launch today, with headline sponsors including Hamilton Locke, MA Financial Group, Grant Thornton, and Source. The awards, which will be hosted virtually on Wednesday 24 August, celebrate disruptive Australian technology businesses that demonstrate high rates of sustainable growth, as well as innovation, integrity, and contribution to community, while making significant impact in their industry sectors.
Nick Humphrey, Chairman of the Technology Scale-up Awards, said of the inaugural 2021 awards “We were very impressed by the calibre of nominations from companies who have shown continued growth, resilience, and innovation in such uncertain times. In fact, the dramatic shift in underlying conditions caused by the global pandemic proved to be an evolutionary moment for many of last year’s nominees, who looked to capitalise on new market dynamics by using technology and software to solve very human problems”.
Eligible applicants in 2022 will have been in operation for two or more years and have annual revenue up to AUD $25 million, having been founded in Australia or with majority Australian ownership. This excludes nominations in the ‘One to Watch’ category, for which the turnover requirement is up to $3 million. Nominations will be assessed by an independent panel of judges. Categories for the awards include:
- Technology Scale-up of the Year Award (awarded to the overall winner of the industry categories)
- FinTech of the Year Award
- EdTech of the Year Award
- AgTech and FoodTech of the Year Award
- Business and Professional Services of the Year Award
- Health, Life Sciences and BioTech of the Year Award
- Sustainability and CleanTech of the Year Award
