Noah Gray

Lawyer

Noah is an innovative and commercially minded Lawyer in Hamilton Locke’s Intellectual Property and Technology (IP&T) team, with a keen focus on technology, artificial intelligence, data, and privacy.

He has a particular interest in artificial intelligence governance and risk, including the design and application of AI risk assessment and governance frameworks, the procurement and deployment of AI tools, and the classification and handling of the data used to train and run these systems. This includes important considerations of data sovereignty and cross-border processing, model and vendor due diligence, and how the architecture of an AI system shapes its compliance position under the relevant statutory data security and information handling obligations.

Noah draws on a background in information technology (IT) and software & digital systems development, which informs how he approaches the technical detail underlying technological and AI issues, from how data moves through a system to how a tool is built and integrated into a business.

Noah works across technology contracts, data security and cyber matters, and the protection, licensing, and commercialisation of intellectual property. He has experience in corporate and commercial law, mergers and acquisitions, asset protection, as well as trusts law and complex succession planning matters (particularly for agricultural enterprises or large family groups).

He is driven by a desire to approach legal challenges with a fresh perspective, embracing the transformation of the legal sector to deliver more efficient, forward-thinking solutions and create meaningful value for clients working at the frontier of emerging technology.
