As a finance lawyer with the ability to communicate complex ideas in a clear manner, Lauren also has a very enthusiastic approach to her work, which, in combination, enables her to work accurately and efficiently in highly pressured situations. Lauren’s commercial approach is highly valued by our clients, who trust her to achieve the best outcome in any given situation.

Lauren has extensive experience undertaking all manner of debt finance transactions. These include asset finance, vendor finance, property finance, corporate lending and leveraged and acquisition finance. Lauren has acted for financial institutions, as well as corporate clients, both locally and internationally.

Prior to joining Hamilton Locke, Lauren worked at Gilbert + Tobin in Sydney. She also worked for leading South African firm, ENS Africa in Johannesburg.

SELECTED REPRESENTATIONS
  • Acted for Moelis Australia on the senior secured financing (comprising a cash advance term facility and a revolving facility) raised to fund the acquisition of the real estate freehold and operating business of the Beach Hotel, Byron Bay in February 2020.
  • Acted for Agrifunder and Tozer and Co in relation to the senior secured facility provided by Nomura to provide working capital relief to farmers in their purchase of livestock in Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria and South Australia, in December 2019.
  • Acted for Quadrant Private Equity in relation to the senior and mezzanine facilities used to fund the acquisition of Bowling and Entertainment Division of Ardent Leisure in 2018 and subsequently acted for Quadrant Private Equity/The Entertainment and Education Group in refinancing this acquisition debt in 2019 with Australian Unitranche Facilities (with a super-senior revolving component) ensuring further flexibility for the growth of the business.
  • Acted for Quadrant Private Equity and Fitness and Lifestyle Group in relation to the Senior and Mezzanine Australian Unitranche Facilities (with a super-senior revolving component) raised to fund a dividend recapitalisation and refinance the original acquisition financing.
