Hamilton Locke advises Triton Digital on acquisition of Omny Studio

Hamilton Locke acted for Los Angeles-based digital audio tech and advertising company Triton Digital in its acquisition of Omny Studio. Omny Studio was founded in Melbourne in 2012 and today sells podcast distribution software to enterprises globally and powers many of the world’s most popular podcasts. Triton Digital is owned by The E. W. Scripps Company, an American broadcasting company founded in 1878.

Hamilton Locke advised on the Australian aspects of the deal and worked closely with Triton’s United States counsel, Baker & Hostetler LLP.

The team at Hamilton Locke was led by partner Brent Delaney who was assisted by senior associate Dominik Kleemann and lawyers Morgan Sheargold, Sahar Rostabeik and Amelia Schubach.

Commenting on the transaction, Brent Delaney said: “By enabling traditional broadcasters and pure play podcasters to grow their audience and revenue, Omny Studio is a natural fit for Triton Digital. This deal was another example of Hamilton Locke’s growing cross-border practice which is being enabled by our independent status and global outlook.”
