As a lawyer in the New Energy team, Minji provides comprehensive legal solutions tailored to her clients’ needs.

She fosters a collaborative environment and builds strong relationships to ensure a deep understanding of each client’s goals. She has experience in representing clients in energy and infrastructure projects across Australia, Central America and Asia. Driven by a strong passion for the energy transition, she is dedicated to promoting legal developments in emerging technologies and advocating for policies that support net-zero emissions and sustainable energy solutions.

Minji’s areas of expertise include wind farms, floating offshore wind projects, power plant construction, project development and public-private partnership projects. She is experienced in negotiating and drafting EPC contracts, development agreements, lease, licenses, engineering services agreements and supply agreements.

Having gained international experience in Seoul, South Korea in recent years, Minji has worked with renowned global EPC services providers. Her ability to identify and assess legal risks and provide practical, actionable solutions has consistently benefited her clients.

Prior to joining Hamilton Locke, Minji worked at POSCO E&C and Shin & Kim LLC in Korea and PwC in Australia. She also had a secondment to the legal team at the Transport for NSW.

SELECTED REPRESENTATIONS
  • Acted for Corio Generation in its partnership to develop a combined 2.6 GW offshore wind power project in Korea along with TotalEnergies and SK Ecoplant Co.
  • Acted for Clean Energy Partnerships in the solar farm projects that involved installation, operation and maintenance of rooftop solar farms on industrial and commercial properties in collaboration of the large-scale property owner, Pelligra.
  • Acted for POSCO E&C in its investment alongside with POSCO Holdings Inc. and Korean banking conglomerate Shinhan Financial Group with a combined US$20 million in Australian green hydrogen technology startup, Hysata.
  • Acted for POSCO E&C in LNG Terminal Expansion Project in Andres, the Dominican Republic. This project involved installation of LNG tank and expansion of the regasification facility with the annual capacity of 100 million tons.
  • Acted for Transport for New South Wales in the development of cycleway shared paths providing recreational cycling routes. Placed on secondment at Transport for NSW to assist with the upgrade of M4 Smart Motorway project which involved amending the project deed and lease to include new assets and associated obligations.
