Jo takes a pragmatic approach to her work and focuses on developing attentive and trusting relationships with clients to resolve their complex legal issues. Jo has navigated several multi-jurisdictional transactions and works to ensure all parties are satisfied with the outcome.

Jo specialises in M&A and joint ventures with specific expertise advising clients on trade sales, dual tracks, ASX listings and takeover strategies. She also has extensive experience helping boards navigate regulatory environments, corporate governance and disclosure obligations for listed companies.

Jo has extensive expertise working with clients across a range of industry sectors including financial services, industrials and healthcare. She has previously worked in Hong Kong, where she enhanced her international capability helping clients implement their acquisition and divestment strategies in the Asian market and advised on listings on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange. 

Prior to joining Hamilton Locke, Jo worked for King & Wood Mallesons and Ashurst.

  • Advised Westpac on the $725 million sale of its general insurance business to Allianz.
  • Advised Westpac on the $900 million sale of its life insurance business to TAL Dai-ichi Life.
  • Advised Bank of Queensland on the $1.3 billion acquisition of digital bank ME Bank.
  • Advised Animoca Brands, a leader in digital entertainment, blockchain and gamification, on a number of capital raisings.
  • Advised Brickworks on its acquisition of Glen-Gery, the fourth largest brick manufacturer in the USA.
