Jack Peterson

Jack has a particular interest in working with people and helping clients successfully meet their business objectives in a way that addresses all commercial needs. He has a solid reputation for his legal knowledge and commercial acumen and is often called upon by clients to address critical business issues.

With a broad range of experience across all aspects of the capital raising spectrum, Jack has particular expertise in establishing and promoting investment funds. He has extensive experience advising property and mortgage fund operators from the retail and wholesale sectors. In addition, Jack has considerable experience advising clients in relation to the AFS licensing regime. 

Jack is passionate about the environment and working for causes that help to reduce associated impacts and he also works closely with not-for-profit organisations that support social justice causes. 

Prior to joining Hamilton Locke, Jack worked for McMahon Clarke in the funds management team and in house at ASX listed property manager Vicinity Centres.

  • Acted on the acquistion of leasehold interest in Chatswood Central Shopping Centre, advising both the senior and mezzanine borrowers in relation to a $70 million senior facility and a $17 million mezzanine facility.
  • Acted for Centuria and Centuria Heathley in relation to establishing a number of property funds, including the Centuria 348 Edward Street Fund, Centuria 80 Grenfell Street Fund, Centuria 80 Flinders Street Fund and the Centuria Geelong Office Fund. Also acted for Centuria in relation to the Centuria Diversified Property Fund. 
  • Acted for professional trustee One Investment Group in relation to establishing a number of wholesale funds in the property, mortgage and equities sectors.
  • Acted on the restructure of the IFM Investors Specialised Credit Fund
  • Acted for Keppel Capital in the indirect acquisition of 50% of the issued shares in Australian Unity Investment Real Estate Limited, the responsible entity of Australian Unity Office Fund.
