George Calman

George has a particular drive for solving challenging and complex problems. He sees the law as a vehicle for achieving positive change for clients and the community. He is focused on helping clients to achieve desired and successful outcomes, using his observant and patient approach. 

George’s experience includes commercial litigation in a variety of state and federal courts, financial services matters, general contractual disputes, insurance law, and employment law. George also has a particular interest in health law and professional liability. 

Prior to joining Hamilton Locke, George was a barrister's assistant at Jack Shand Chambers and a paralegal at the Law Society of NSW.

  • Representing an offshore business services provider in a contractual interpretation dispute with an international provider of outsourced employment services.
  • Advising a retail distributor in a licensing dispute with a listed company.  
  • Advising an uninsured defendant in a claim against an insurance broker for breach of professional.
  • Advising a plaintiff on a complex Total and Permanent Disability policy in an insurance matter.
  • Assisting underprivileged clients in parenting disputes and the Law Society's Pro Bono Scheme.
