Edmund Yuan

Lawyer

Edmund is a construction and infrastructure lawyer who delivers commercially focused, pragmatic advice across the project lifecycle. Having acted for principals, contractors, suppliers and government on major energy and infrastructure projects, he understands not only his client’s position but the commercial pressures and risk appetite of every party at the table. Edmund specialises in drafting and negotiating high-value standard form and bespoke construction contracts, including EPC contracts, equipment supply agreements and major works subcontracts. In the new energy sector, he has advised on battery energy storage system (BESS) and advanced compressed air energy storage (A-CAES) projects. Complementing his front-end practice, Edmund is increasingly engaged on the disputes arising from these projects, including security of payment claims and rectification of defective works.

Prior to joining Hamilton Locke, Edmund worked in the Infrastructure, Construction and Energy team at Macpherson Kelley, and spent over four years in-house at the Level Crossing Removal Project advising on five multibillion-dollar Program Alliances — including a secondment to McConnell Dowell Constructors on the $234 million Mt Derrimut Road, Deer Park Level Crossing Removal Project. He was most recently a Senior Solicitor at Homes Victoria.
