Andrew has a passion for navigating complex issues, particularly in the construction, energy and property sectors. Relying on his diligent and resourceful approach, Andrew takes a holistic approach to identifying and understanding various issues so that the most desirable outcome is achieved.

Andrew has particular expertise in advising major contractors, developers and consultants across the project lifecycle in both the residential and commercial developments space. He also advises and acts for clients with disputes under the Security of Payment Act as well as litigated matters including claims under the Home Building Act.

Prior to joining Hamilton Locke, Andrew worked for Blackstone Waterhouse Lawyers, KPMG Tax and Legal, the ATO, and the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission.

  • Acted for a major contractor in respect of an early contractor involvement deed for a major hotel development in Perth.
  • Acted in numerous Supreme Court matters relating to variations, extensions of time, Security of Payment, defects and various other project disputes across a project’s lifecycle.
  • Advised and assisted a large purpose-built student accommodation company of its statutory obligations across all state jurisdictions, as it sought to commence operations in Australia.
  • Acted for a client on avenues to enforce a judgment debt, which was successful at an interlocutory hearing in dismissing a motion seeking to set aside the client's Examination Order to cross-examine the Respondent's sole Director.
